A modern vision for BRELA – improving the experience of doing business in Tanzania

Tanzanian Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA) signed an agreement with global information technology and consulting group NRD Companies that will design and develop an Online Registration System at BRELA.


The Online Registration System (ORS) solution will automate registration processes for BRELA, increase efficiency of the government services and improve the customer experience. Once the system is implemented, users will be able to apply for the Business Name Registration, Company Registration, Industrial License Registration ,Trade and Service Marks Registration and Patents Registration online. ORS will also contain elements specifically developed for collaboration and provision of electronic services between institutions.

Cyber security professionals engaged in practical trainings in Uganda

The 4th annual Cyber Defence East Africa 2016 conference (CDEA), organised by NRD Companies together with the National Information Technology Authority - Uganda (NITA-U) has just finished in Kampala, Uganda. On 27-29th September 2016 over 70 participants from various Ugandan institutions such as the President's Office, Ministry of Finance, Uganda Police Force, Uganda Revenue Authority, National Identification and Registrations Authority, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Makerere University and many others, spent three days listening to cyber security policy keynotes and practicing to defend against the most pervasive cyber-attacks.

Cyber Defence East Africa Summit 2015 conference report

Cyber Defence East Africa Summit 2015 was the 3rd annual business focused multi-stakeholder knowledge sharing and networking platform, organised on 11 - 13 August,  2015 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania by Norway Registers Development East Africa (NRD EA) Ltd in collaboration with Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA). The conference, themed "Cyber Security Strategy to Protect an Interconnected World", brought together the Government, the ICT Industry and Academia in efforts to create a better and more secure digital environment for the states, governments, businesses and citizens.

NRD East Africa organized cyber security awareness trainings for almost 200 university candidates in Tanzania

NRD East Africa continues implementing its cyber security awareness campaign, seeking to create a more secure digital environment in Tanzania, and this time targeting university students. Several workshops have been conducted to various Universities in Dar es Salaam including University of Dar es Salaam College of Engineering (COET), Institute of Finance Management (IFM-Main campus Dar es Salaam) and Dar es salaam Institute of Technology, benefiting almost 200 ICT students.

INVL Technology reorganization completed

10th February, Vilnius, INVL Technology, a company investing into IT businesses, completed reorganization. The company will now apply for a closed-end investment company licence at the Bank of Lithuania and aim to raise more than EUR 10 million for new investments.

Cyber Defence East Africa 2014 report

In September, Cyber Defence East Africa 2014 - annual NRD East Africa and ISACA Tanzania Chapter conference, dedicated to "Fighting against Financial and Data Privacy Crime" was held in Arusha, Tanzania.


In order to consolidate the knowledge transferred by the speakers and make it available for a wider audience, a conference report has been prepared. The report draws upon some of the ideas brought up by the speakers to identify the biggest current cyber-security challenges in the East African region and internationally as well as suggestions for the way forward in 2015.

INVL Technology will aim to raise more than EUR 10 million in 2015

INVL Technology, a company investing into IT businesses, managed by the shareholders of Invalda LT, AB, will aim to raise not less than EUR 10 million through a new share issue in 2015.


A shareholders' agreement between INVL Technology and the shareholders of UAB BAIP Group, a company managed by INVL Technology, was signed this Wednesday. The agreement states that INVL Technology and BAIP Group will merge before the capital raising. The company will also apply for the closed-end investment company licence issued by the Bank of Lithuania.

BAIP group within 9 months received 30 percent more consolidated revenue

During 9 months of 2014 consolidated revenue of BAIP group according to preliminary data reached 11.672 million EUR (96.666 million NOK) - 30 percent increase, compared to the same period last year - 9.003 million EUR (68.845 million NOK). BAIP group EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) increased by 21 percent and reached 0.873 million EUR (7.232 million NOK). In the same period last year EBITDA amounted to 0.722 million EUR (5.521 million NOK).
